Rebecca Hausman is an associate at Mitchell Highlander, LLC, where she focuses her practice on guiding individuals through a wide range of family law matters, such as divorces, custody, parenting time, child support, and adoptions. Before joining the firm, Rebecca worked as an associate at a large national firm where she represented individuals impacted by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases.
She has also worked as an assistant state’s attorney with the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office where she was the Chief of the Child Support Enforcement Division. While at the State’s Attorney’s Office, she also prosecuted criminal cases involving minors and handled requests for the expungement and sealing of criminal records.
Rebecca graduated with her J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Law in 2016 after receiving a B.S. in marketing in 2013 from SIU.
Rebecca holds several leadership roles and volunteer positions within her community. She is the Vice-President of the Madison County Bar Association, past President of the Alton-Wood River Bar Association, Chair of the Young Lawyers’ Division for the Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, and a member of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Illinois State Bar Association. She was also a member of the Inaugural Class of the Illinois State Bar Association Leadership Academy.
